Currently, if you are a resident of Kenya you are able to adopt children from Kenya. However, at this time it is not possible to adopt children from Kenya internationally. There has been a moratorium on international adoptions since 2014 due to issues with child sex trafficking.

That being said, if you really are interested in adopting a child from Kenya, it is possible to establish residency here. The adoption process starts with 3 months of foster parenting (referred to as "residency with the child") and then you can apply for adoption with the Kenyan court system which is about a 6 month process that takes place in Kenya. The courts have become more open than in the past about adoptions outside of the child's tribe and race. It is recommended that you also check with your own country of origin for what would be necessary to bring your child back home with you.
